The Danida Public Leadership Course has been designed to meet the needs for further development of leaders in the public sector. It is a residential programme consisting of two parts of 4 and 3 weeks duration respectively. The programme will be organised for Danida Fellowship Centre by the Danish consultancy company Copenhagen Development Consulting A/S.
Target GroupThe Public Leadership Course targets managers in the public sector in central ministries and regional administrations and heads of administration or similar at district level. Furthermore, civil servants on fast career tracks or facing imminent promotions, as well as nationals working in reform units etc. in the public sector in temporary assignments.
The participants are assumed to have leading position in their organisation, a relevant university degree and at least 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the public sector. The participants
are furthermore assumed to work either directly with donors or more indirectly in contexts supported by donors.

Course SpecificationsThe course is specifically designed for Danish supported Development Programmes. Emphasis is put on applicability of knowledge and skills and the transfer from course to work area.
NB: Course participants must be able to discuss course topics in English and to use a PC.Application ProcedureAll needed forms can be downloaded from the DFC website,
www.dfcentre.com, or obtained at the Royal Danish Embassy.
The potential participants must fill in the Fellowship Forms and Residence Permit Forms (pink form):
- Two copies of both forms are required (in one batch).
- The Fellowship Forms must be endorsed by a responsible officer of the Programme/Project.
- Also, Fellowship Forms are to be countersigned by the relevant Danish Embassy Officer.
- After endorsement, the Embassy is kindly asked to forward all forms directly to DFC.
- Deadline for all forms to reach the Danida Fellowship Centre is 21st May 2007.
Selection Procedure
- The selection committee will meet at DFC primo June 2007.
- Embassies and Programme/Projects will be informed of the selection soon hereafter.
- After the selection, participants must forward health certificates to DFC. The health certificates should be signed between one and four months prior to the course.
EconomyThe total funding needs are DKK 80,000 per participant. This includes study fees, accommodation, allowances and international transport.
A few qualified applicants may obtain grants from the central fellowship fund. However, participants with programme / project funds have preference over non-funded applicants.
Please note that the course will be carried out only if sufficient Programme funding is available.
